A unique Saudi Arabian experience, this stunning route brings you to a gentle flowing stream surrounded by lush vegetation, where the sound of birds is the only thing to break the silence. This route can be found 200km south of Tabuk but it’s a million miles away from city life. You’ll navigate narrow tracks which cut through dense palm trees, surrounded by towering rock pillars.

   Wadi ad Daysah

A popular destination for residents, Wadi ad Daysah is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic against the beautiful backdrop of red mountain walls and abundant greenery. It’s also a great place to spend the weekend hiking and camping. Visitors can explore archaeological sites with Nabataean writings inscribed into stone, and there’s a good chance you’ll sight donkeys and camels during your stay. Ongoing efforts are underway to preserve and protect the heritage located within the wadi, so try and be mindful of your impact on the environment.

Depending on the time of year, deep pools of water can cover areas of the track. While driving through water can be fun and exhilarating, remember to be safe and ensure you know what you’re driving into.

WADI TAXI

If you want to visit Wadi ad Daysah but don’t have a terrain-appropriate vehicle, you can opt to hire one of the ‘taxis’ readily available in the area. These taxis can be found near the wadi entrance and are typically open-top 4WD vehicles. You’ll be able to enjoy a scenic drive through the wadi for SAR 500 (USD 130).

DRIVING DIRECTION

This route includes a mixture of sandy tracks, seasonal streams and unpaved roads that cut across this breathtaking wadi.

1     As the main road ends, the unpaved track begins. Follow the track to the entrance of Wadi ad Daysah. Depending on the time of the year, this area might be filled with water.

2     Continue straight until you reach Wadi Qaraqir where you can explore more streams, rocky mountains and wildlife.

3     Continue straight through the wadi until the end of the route. Take care as there are often deep pools of water on the track.
